Canadian-ay, you are correct that all of the courses are available online, but I would not take them. It isn't that they are not good courses, but if you are looking as a prospective employee then they will be of limited, if any, benefit to you. As mentioned by bobbyt, TDG and WHMIS are conducted as in-house courses (whether by booklet or online... the same courses you have found even) and the certificate authority for them remains with the company you are employed with at the time you take them. If you move to another company then you re-take the courses. There is a slight difference with WHMIS, if you take the CSTS or PSTS course (which a number of companies are starting to look for, BTW), WHMIS is included and it remains part of the associated certificate which remains with you and not the company you are employed by at the time you take the course. While there is at least one H2S course available online it will be of almost no value to you as the only one recognized industry-wide is the one bobbyt mentioned, H2S Alive. It is only available in-class and it is required by any major facility you may need access to (refineries, oil sands projects, etc.). If you are able to take that on your own as well as the two-day First Aid course you will have a bit of a leg up.
